Mr. Pierson attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law and became licensed to practice law in 1984. Mr. Pierson returned to Greene County and went into private practice in the county seat of Xenia, Ohio. In 1985, Mr. Pierson became a lawyer in the Office of the Montgomery County Public Defender and did misdemeanor and felony criminal defense for ten years. In 1995, Mr. Pierson went to work in the law firm of Rion, Rion & Rion where he practiced criminal defense, domestic relations and family law until he started his sole practice in the same areas until January of 2011, when he joined David Mesaros.

Mr. Pierson is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Pierson also served as a Magistrate in the Greene County Domestic Relations Court.
